Ms Jeannette Wood, daughter of Sgt Everett H. Sears, E Company 253d Infantry Regiment has
provided the following account of her father's service with the 63rd Infantry Division in World War II.  
This is posted in special recognition of his service to his country and as requested by his daughter.

Sgt. EVERETT HOWARD SEARS (Howard)
63rd Army Infantry Division in Rhineland and Central Europe
Company E, 253rd Infantry Regiment
3rd Squad, 3rd Platoon
March 30, 1944 left for Basic Training at Camp Van Dorn, MS
November 25, 1944 on Sea Robin to Marseilles, France
December 1944 Transported to Hagenau, France
March 1945 to Mannheim and Heidelburg
Crossed the Rhine at Worms, Germany and through the Sigfried Line
April 4, 1945 wounded and transported by train to 23rd General Hospital
May 1945 shipped to 6975th Reinforcement Depot at Chateau Thierry (Hollywood)
August 1945 went to 16th Reinforcement Depot, on to Camp 20 Grand,
Camp Phillip Morris.
Camp Lucky Strike in Lehavre, France
December 10, 1945 left on the Muelenberg Victory for the US with the
28th Division since 63rd Division was deactivated
December 19, 1945 went by train to Fort Devens, MA
December 23, 1945 discharged
December 24, 1945 arrived home to a VERY happy 7 year old (Me)
December 24, 2008  Date of death on Cape Cod, MA
